Mission

The South Asian Behavioral Health Initiative (SABHI) was founded in 2018. SABHI seeks to build community and connection for practicing South Asian therapists, to be a mental health resource for our communities in the Pacific Northwest, and to destigmatize South Asian mental wellness via visibility of our stories and expertise. We seek to:

  • Build an organization that engenders connectivity between South Asian therapists in the Pacific Northwest.

  • Provide resources to people of South Asian origin so that they may have easeful and plentiful access to mental wellness, education, and tools.

  • Create opportunities for South Asian therapists to surface and share their knowledge in our communities.

We strive towards a culture that celebrates the abundance of South Asian diasporic richness and nuances in our practices.
