The South Asian Behavioral Health Initiative
of the Pacific Northwest
Mission
The South Asian Behavioral Health Initiative (SABHI) was founded in 2018. SABHI seeks to build community and connection for practicing South Asian therapists, to be a mental health resource for our communities in the Pacific Northwest, and to destigmatize South Asian mental wellness via visibility of our stories and expertise. We seek to:
-
Build an organization that engenders connectivity between South Asian therapists in the Pacific Northwest.
-
Provide resources to people of South Asian origin so that they may have easeful and plentiful access to mental wellness, education, and tools.
-
Create opportunities for South Asian therapists to surface and share their knowledge in our communities.
We strive towards a culture that celebrates the abundance of South Asian diasporic richness and nuances in our practices.
