of the Pacific Northwest
Portia works with individuals and couples who are interested in fostering self-awareness and strengthening understanding and connection. She currently offers telehealth services to residents of WA, and specializes in working through issues relating to anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, and life transitions. Her specialty populations include BIPOC, immigrants and first generation Americans, and LGBTQ+.
As a systems thinker, Portia's approach is rooted in social justice and cultural attunement. She works to understand how each person has been shaped by their upbringing, culture, and social surroundings, and uses this lens to facilitate clients' own understanding and compassion for their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Portia uses an eclectic approach rooted in mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral, and somatic-based principles.
Portia is fluent in English and Spanish, and conversationally fluent in Punjabi.
